Primal Forests - Ancient Trees

The Exploration, Preservation, Spirit, and Aesthetics of Nature

My father told my little nephew that Fall means DEATH. He said it in such a way that it sounded negative, and my nephew looked sad. Being the Boldy that I am, I HAD to speak up about that! "Don't listen to your grandfather, Peter", I said. "He's touched in the head right now".
Fall means REST. The trees are going to sleep to rejuvinate for next Spring's growth. Their leaves will fertilize the ground like how vitamins nourish us. My nephew actually listened, and I knew he understood, while my father merely snickered at my seemingly "hokey" Ghandi-like revelation. Let's face it.. hokey or not... it's the TRUTH . Nature has much to teach humans. Let's listen!

Since that September incident with my nephew, I've been dwelling on the hidden beauty and wisdom of Seasons I never enjoyed as much as Spring or Summer with all the gaiety of butterflies, blossoms and Spring green leaves.

This morning I'm experiencing a little Winter of my own. Having taken off from work due to a sinus infection, I am resting, and receiving inner inspiration. With God's Spirit leading within me, I channeled a little poem about Fall and Winter's time of Rest:

Good Night Dear Earth

Good night, dear Earth,
Your leaves around me blow;
And form your blanket on the soil
of Maple leaf and snow.

Sleep tight, My Earth,
Rest well your Limb and Lake;
In Winter's icy twilight slumber,
Before Spring's Morning Wake.
