Despite the beat of a different drum, for me, the essence of a forest or woods isn't the architecture(trees), but rather the subtle embellishments--Twinflower, Sundews, Sandhill Crane in Ontario; Deerberry, Greenbrier, Red-headed woodpeckers in N Ohio. The plants that overlap show the connection between the biomes.

I think he is talking about the beautiful way that they grow. If you ever notice there are some striking formations that trees have formed.
